1.3.9 Remaining hazards during normal use
Personnel performing setting or maintenance work on
the system must have been informed about the remaining hazards possibly
due to the system.
These hazards are caused by:
- shearing or crushing
- pushing by moveable system components
These hazards have to be observed at the following system components:
- probe holders
- axes
- wheels
1.3.10 Hazards caused by electric energy
Work on electric systems may be performed only by
skilled electricians and according to the electro-technical
regulations. Also admissible is trained personnel who is supervised by
a skilled electrician.

death by electric shock, injuries and burn |
Causes |
contact with, touching of or immediate vicinity to non-insulated or
incorrectly insulated parts which are under current and voltage
usage of non-insulated, inappropriate or defective tools
freely accessible electrically conducting parts with defective
insulation
poor work performance and inadequate safety check after |
Possible protection |
ensure that disconnected components are dead, then ground and
short-circuit them; insulate neighboring live components
check electrical components at regular intervals
immediately replace loose or damaged cables
do not touch live components
wear protective clothing (plastic/rubber gloves, shoes with thick
crepe soles) |
1.3.11 Hazards caused by work materials
Work materials are substances such as oil, grease, cooling agents, detergents, solvents,
acids, alkaline solutions.
Possible damage |
deflagration by inflammation, unconsciousness, intoxication,
dizziness through inhalation
allergies
injuries caused by scalding and burning of the skin
cauterization caused by contact with acids or alkaline solutions
explosions, fires |
Causes |
skin contact with irritating fluids
working clothes covered with hazardous material
leaking or toppled containers with hazardous material
burning cigarettes or open fire while handling hazardous material
leakages |
Possible protection |
utmost care while handling work materials and agents
always wear protective clothing (oil- and acid-resistant gloves,
protective suits, respiratory equipment, if necessary)
always avoid skin contact and inhalation
immediately change clothing soaked with hazardous material
ensure sufficient ventilation of the work area
observe the warnings on the hazardous material containers
immediately after use close hazardous material containers firmly
collect used work materials and dispose of according to
environmental
in case of leakage or spilling, immediately spread suitable
absorbent and dispose of according to environmental regulations
