Incorrect. Permeability of the specimen is not constant. It varies with the range of the magnetizing force.

Whether permeability is variable or constant depends upon where you are operating on the curve. It also depends on how wide a range of change in magnetizing force you are using. If your range is small and you are in the straight-line portion of the curve, permeability is a constant value. If your range is wide and you are operating over the bent portion of the curve, then the permeability will vary.
